The marble is a naturally porous stone and, as such, stain easily. Spilled food and drink can stain the surface of marble table tops. While marble is an expensive and attractive stone used on floors, walls, statues and tables, retain their cleaning requires regular maintenance. Glue the edges of the plastic wrap with masking tape. The plaster is allowed to dry on the spot for two days. The diatomite or diatomaceous earth absorbs the stain.
